Animal Facility Biosafety Level 3/Biosafety Level 3 . USDA approves a facility as BSL3 and/or ABSL3. This allows the facility to use BSL3 agents. BSL3 approval is required to obtain transport permits from the National Centers for Import and Export (NCIE) to move BSL3 agents to the facility. Select Agent registration is separate as not all BSL3 agents are select agents. The Benchmark facility has select agent registration for highly pathogenic AIV and velogenic NDV.
